Simple Spheres

Step 1:

Open a new Image with a width of about 100 and height of 100. And a white Background.

Use the Elliptical Marquee Tool (M) and Make and perfect circle (TIP: Hold down the ctrl key)

Step 2:

Create a new layer (Shift+CTRL+N)

Select the Radial Granite Tool (G)

Step 3:

Choose a foreground color that is lighter than the back ground color.
Step 4:

With the granite tool still selected start slighting inside the top left and drag it down to the button right. (TIP: If you hold down the shift key while dragging the granite tool it will constrain a 45 degree angle)

Final Tips:

You can also add a small outer or inner glow to the sphere.

OR you can add a lens flare ( Filter > Render > Lens Flare )
