After you have defined a symbol, you have several options available to you in the library window. Press Ctrl + L to bring up the library window.

Also, there might be a situation with the library looking like this:

Notice that there are two new buttons on the image screen. This means that the symbol has some sort of an animation: anything involving two or more frames. The buttons function as any stop and play buttons.

Tips to remember
• To rename a symbol double click on the name.
• Editing the symbol in a library modifies the symbol permanently.
• Drag and drop the symbol in the movie.
• You can copy and paste symbols that have effect applied to them already.
• If you want to further edit the symbols then double click the symbol.
